반갑습니다 , eduKaytion 을 시작한 김경화입니다.

이 뉴스레터는 “AI가 중요한 건 알겠는데, 도대체 우리 아이에게 어떻게 이야기해야 할까?” 라는 질문에서 출발했습니다.

 왜 eduKaytion인가요?

요즘 부모들은 너무 많은 정보를 한꺼번에 마주합니다.
AI, 진로, 대학, 코딩, 창의력, 정체성, 정서 건강까지.

문제는 정보는 넘치는데, 맥락은 부족하다는 점입니다. 그래서 eduKaytion은 부모가 함께 생각할 수 있도록 돕는 공간이 되고자 합니다.

저는 AI 전문가가 아닙니다. 하지만 저는 미국 공립학교 현장에서 교육위원으로, 학부모와 학교, 커뮤니티 사이를 잇는 연결자로서, 그리고 이민 자녀의 부모로서 “부모가 어떤 지점에서 가장 혼란스러워하는지”를 오랫동안 보았고 같이 문제를 풀어 왔습니다. 그래서 저는 새로운 기술을 가르치기보다 긴 세월동안 여러 시각으로 활동해 온 경험으로 우리 부모가 가져야 할 관점과 질문을 큐레이션합니다.

eduKaytion에서는 다음과 같은 이야기를 나눕니다.

• AI 시대, 부모의 역할은 무엇이 달라질까
• 아이들의 장래를 위해 부모는 어떤 노력을 해야 할까
• 성적을 올리기 위한 ‘학습 태도’는 어떻게 만들어질까
• 한국계 미국 가정이 가진 강점은 무엇일까
• 학교와 가정은 어떻게 협력할 수 있을까

어렵지 않게, 그러나 가볍지 않게 이야기하겠습니다.

이 뉴스레터는 이렇게 운영됩니다

• 격주 발송을 기본으로 합니다
• 글은 짧고, 생각은 깊게
• 실천 가능한 질문 하나는 꼭 남기겠습니다

필요할 때는 워크숍, 설명회, 프로젝트 소식도 함께 전하겠습니다.

Hello,
I’m Kay Kim, the founder of eduKaytion.

This newsletter began with a simple question:
“We know AI is important, but how on earth should we talk about it with our children?”

Why eduKaytion?
Today’s parents are confronted with too much information all at once, AI, career paths, college admissions, coding, creativity, identity, and emotional well-being.
The problem is not a lack of information, but a lack of context.

eduKaytion aims to be a space where parents can think together.

I am not an AI expert. However, as a school board member in the U.S. public school system, a connector between parents, schools, and communities, and a parent of an immigrant child, I have long observed where parents feel the most confused—and I have worked alongside them to find answers.

Rather than teaching new technologies, I curate perspectives and questions that parents need, drawing on years of experience across multiple fields.

 At eduKaytion, we explore topics such as:

• How does the role of parents change in the AI era?
• What should parents do today for their children’s future?
• How can we build learning attitudes that improve academic performance?
• What strengths do Korean American families have?
• How can schools and families work together more effectively?

I will keep the conversation accessible, but never superficial.

 How this newsletter works

• Sent biweekly as a general rule
• Short writing, deep thinking
• Always leaving you with at least one actionable question

When appropriate, I will also share news about workshops, info sessions, and projects.

 I want to walk this path together with parents.

I want to support our children’s education—together.
